Tourism

Top Ten attractions
An attempt at listing the "must see" attractions for the visitor with limited time. Everybody is going to have a different opinion but I will try to be as objective as I can be.
Beaches
Information about the beaches in Ilfracombe, as well as those that are within easy reach of the town. Also information about surfing, which I must confess I don't know much about.
Theme parks
From Watermouth Castle on the doorstep to The Milky Way, and The Big Sheep, a little further away, there are loads of fun family days out within easy drive of the town.
Museums and similar
Ilfracombe boasts its own museum on the sea front, as well as an aquarium, St Nicholas Chapel on Lantern Hill, and Chambercombe Manor. There is loads of history to discover, with statues, and interesting architecture to investigate. The lifeboat house is often opened up to the public and there is a fully working fishing harbour where you can enjoy the smell of freshly caught fish. Please note, if you are offended by freshly caught fish then perhaps you should go on holiday somewhere else?
Countryside
Information about parks, playgrounds, and country walks, which are usually all free. Plus outdoor activities, and show gardens, which usually aren't.
